Hi there,
We're excited to announce the addition of the Collection action feature in Yeeflow, expanding the flexibility of automation within your applications.
Unlike form actions, which operate at the form level, the Collection action is designed specifically for the Collection control. This allows you to add unique automation directly to each item within a collection.
You can now find the new "Collection action" settings in the properties panel of the Collection control. Here, you can create new actions or manage existing ones, making your collections more interactive and powerful.
What's the Difference Between Form Action and Collection Action?
Form actions are meant for automating controls and variables across the entire form. Collection actions, on the other hand, operate similarly but are also context-aware within the Collection control. This means you can easily access and manipulate each item within a collection, making it possible to leverage the value of individual collection items in each action step.
Additionally, Collection actions include several exclusive steps, such as viewing, editing, or deleting items, updating fields, and even triggering list workflows. These unique steps allow you to build interactive functionalities that directly operate on each collection item effortlessly.
Best Practices for Using Collection Actions
Here are some best practices to help you make the most of Collection actions:
Reusability and Efficiency
One of the great features of the Collection action is that it belongs to its Collection control, meaning that any buttons, containers, or other controls inside the Collection can utilize it. Plus, when you duplicate or copy/paste a Collection, all related Collection actions will automatically carry over, saving you significant time when reusing Collections across different applications.
